Maryleana Méndez Jiménez
Member of the Board, Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUTEL), Costa Rica

Marylena Mendez Jimenez has been a member of the board of the Telecom Regulatory Authority (SUTEL) in Costa Rica, since 2009. The board has directed, organized and supervised the opening of the local telecom market and has been in charge of the spectrum auction, number portability implementation, universal service fund projects, statistics book, and the technical, financial and administrative development of the regulator, among other activities. Previously, Ms Mendez worked for over six years in the telecom industry as project director in Latin America for BT-Infonet, deploying value added networks in the whole region. She has previously occupied various high level positions at important public and private ICT companies in Costa Rica.
Ms Mendez is an ICT professional with over 25 years of experience in the industry and has a Major in Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Costa Rica, Costa Rica and a Master’s degree in IT Management, Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, Mexico
