William Mathew Tevie
Ag. Director General, National Communications Authority, Ghana
William Mathew Tevie became the Ag. Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Ghana, in June this year.
Until his appointment, Mr Tevie was Director General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) for six years, transforming the agency into a world class IT institution through implementation of a variety of sound policies.
He was a member of the previous NCA Board of Directors, chairing the Board’s Sub-Committee on Research (2009 – 2013). From 1988 to 2004, Mr Tevie held various positions in Network Computer Systems (N. C. S.) Limited, retiring as a Deputy Director, Systems / Chief Technology Officer. He has been involved in the Information Technology industry for over 26 years, specializing in areas including software development, ICT/Telecoms, management consultancy, network routing and leadership training.
Mr Tevie is a founding member of Afrinic and also holds membership in a number of organisations including Ghana Institute of Information Technology, Association of Computing Machinery, Internet Society (International) (ISOC), AFNOG and ITAG.
