Ling Pek Ling

Ling Pek Ling is Project Director at the Digital Broadcasting Deployment Office (DBDO) at the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore. The DBDO is responsible for the implementation of the nation's switchover to digital broadcasting. This includes supervising the deployment of infrastructure to enable good reception of digital signals, facilitating the introduction of new digital media services and coordinating efforts to prepare the public for analog switch-off.
Prior to joining MDA, Ms Ling was with the Singapore Broadcasting Authority and the Ministry of Information & The Arts, where she helped establish the policy framework for the corporatisation of the national broadcaster, Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) and for liberalisation of the broadcasting market.
Ms Ling also played a key role in drawing up the regulatory framework for digital TV services and facilitated the early implementation of digital TV in Singapore.
Ms Ling has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from the University of Oxford, UK and Master of Arts (Mass Communications) from the University of Leicester, UK.
