Mario De La Cruz Sarabia
Executive Director, Public Policy & Government Affairs Latin America, Cisco
Mario de la Cruz Sarabia is the Executive Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs for Cisco in Latin America, driving ICT, regulatory and corporative policies through institutional relations in the region.
He has a 20 year career in the private sector and public service, and his leadership was recognised in 2016 when he became President of the National Chamber of the Electronic, Telecommunication and Information Technology Industries, CANIETI, the leading ICT industry association in Mexico. Previously, he was the National Digital Strategy Vice-president in CANIETI.
He worked in the financial sector in Banamex-Citibank and the World Bank in Washington, DC, being part of the team that elaborated the World Development Report. In the public sector he served as Economic Development Secretary of his state and President of the Mexican Association of Economic Development Secretaries, being the first unanimously elected President of this organization.
Mr De la Cruz holds a Bs in Economics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de México (ITAM) and graduated with honors from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California (USC), where he obtained his MBA degree. He also has studies in telecommunications from ITAM, business development from IPADE and energy industry at the University of Texas at Austin.
