Commissioner, National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand (NBTC)
Thawatchai Jittrapanun, Ph.D., is a commissioner with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) Thailand, an independent state regulator responsible for regulating telecommunication and broadcasting services in the country.
Prior to his role as a commissioner, Dr Jittrapanun held a number of senior positions in academia and public sector. In addition to his lecturing role in finance and economics, he was a chairman of the Centre for Labour Development, a chairman of BA Program in Economics International Program, and a director of the Computer Service Centre at Chulalongkorn University. He also was an advisor to the Budget Administration Controlling Committee for Thai Parliament and a credit risk management consultant at the Government Housing Bank of Thailand.
Dr Jittrapanun earned his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, a master degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, from University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa. He also is an alumnus of National Defence College (Thailand), National Defence Course Class 55.
