Tom Pentefountas is a criminal lawyer by trade. He became Vice-Chairman, Broadcasting of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) on April 4, 2011.
Mr.Pentefountas has presided over numerous decisional panels, non-compliance and show cause hearings. For a period of two years, he hosted a radio show in Montreal providing his expertise on human rights, criminal law and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Mr Pentefountas holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from Concordia University. Since joining the Commission, he has earned a certificate in Entertainment Law and a mini MBA.
