President of the Legal Committee, ABA (Brazilian Association of Advertisers)
Vanessa Vilar has been President of the Legal Committee of ABA, Brazilian Association of Advertisers since August 2015. ABA is an entity created in 1959 to represent, defend and support advertisers and the communications business, currently representing around 70% of all advertising investment in Brazil. ABA is member of the WFA – World Federation of Advertisers, and co-founder of CONAR – Brazilian National Self-Regulation Advertising Body.
Ms Vilar is a lawyer, registered before the Brazilian Bar Association, with over 16 years of law practice, dealing with Consumer Law, Marketing & Advertising related issues, Contracts, Intellectual Property, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Law, Antitrust and Litigation.
Over the past 13 years Ms Vilar has been working for Unilever, currently on the Latin American business, managing the Legal Marketing area within the Legal team.
Ms Vilar holds a Masters in Business Administration by FDC (Fundação Dom Cabral), and a post-graduation in Business Law by PUC (Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo), leading schools in Brazil. She is a member of the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property – ABPI.
