Sebastián M Cabello
Head of Latin America, GSMA
Sebastián Cabello is the Head of the GSMA regional office in Latin America, responsible for representing and leading GSMA activities in that region, and has worked for the GSMA since 2006.
He is an industry expert on public policy aspects of the mobile broadband market and the use of mobile spectrum, and is a Member of the National Committee on Spectrum of Colombia.
Prior to joining the GSMA, Mr Cabello worked as Market Research Director at TechPolis and as a consultant on international trade issues for the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Argentina and the Organisation of American States (OAS). He is also involved in academic activities teaching ad hoc ICT courses at the Universidad de Palermo (Argentina) and as associate researcher at the Centre of Technology and Society (CeTyS) of Universidad de San Andres (Argentina).
Mr Cabello holds a master’s degree from the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a specialization in International Economics and a Licenciado degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina). In 2003, he received a Fulbright Grant.
