Pedro Julio Uribe-Bermudez
Senior Director Latin America, Microsoft
Pedro Julio Uribe-Bermudez is the Senior Director for Cities and International Organisations for Microsoft Latin America and the Caribbean. He has the responsibility for the cities’ strategy for the region – CityNext - and to develop partnerships with multilaterals, bilateral and Inter Governmental Organisations such as Inter-American Development Bank – IDB -, Organisation of Americas States – OAS -, World Bank, United Nations, CAF among others, to promote technology in the developing world.
Prior to this, Mr Uribe was the Director for the Startup Business Group (SBG) for Latin America where he was responsible for leading Microsoft to the "one to one computing learning" trend. Before SBG, he was the General Manager for UPG (Unlimited Potential Group) with the responsibility to provide solutions that were relevant, accessible and affordable to promote sustainable economic development in the region.
Before his promotion to covering Latin America, Mr Uribe was the General Manager for Microsoft Colombia. Under his tenure, Microsoft Colombia became one of the top four subsidiaries in LATAM.
Before joining Microsoft, Mr Uribe was General Manager for Andersen Consulting (today Accenture).
He is a Cum Laude Systems Engineer of the Industrial University of Santander with specialization in business and information technology strategy at Andersen Consulting. He holds an MIT specialization in Corporate Strategy.
