Q: WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?

A: I did my PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh in 1997 and have worked in Pakistan and in the US in several organisations including telecoms companies, academia, start-ups, consultancy firms and government. In 2011, I worked for Pakistan’s information technology ministry, working mainly on telecoms policy to address and improve the socioeconomic conditions of the country using ICT.
