Digicel T&T launches LTE-A

TeleGeography reports that Digicel Trinidad and Tobago has upgraded its networks with LTE-A technology using an undisclosed block of spectrum it says was awarded by the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) in July 2019. The initial upgrade has targeted the mobile operator’s 70 most congested sites, with coverage set to be extended to a further 40 heavy-usage sites in the coming months. Maximum download speeds over the new network can reach 190Mbps, Digicel noted. Read more: TeleGeography
