IIC members explore ways to combine a respect for privacy and protection of personal data and critical information infrastructures, whilst promoting innovation and investment and enabling government authorities to protect national security interests. Current issues of interest to IIC members include: network and cyber security; government policies for the protection of users from ‘online harms’; increasing demands from national governments for access to messaging services using end-to-end encryption; and the challenges for businesses in complying with local and international laws affecting storage of personal data.
