IIC AUSTRALIAN CHAPTER: THE HARMONISED FRAMEWORK – DIGITAL PLATFORMS & THE MEDIA

Hosted by Allens

Over 100 people attended the recent IIC Australian Chapter event in Sydney.

Our keynote address from the Hon Paul Fletcher MP, Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts, provided insight into change in the media and communications sector, the importance of competition and of competitive neutrality and the path forward to implement recommendation 6 from the ACCC’s final Digital Platforms Inquiry final report.

You can read the Minister’s speech here.

The panel discussion featured insight and opinion from Creina Chapman (Deputy Chair & CEO, ACMA), Terry Flew (Professor of Communication and Creative Industries; Creative Industries Faculty, QUT), Ian McGill (Partner, Allens) and Justine McCarthy (Head of Regulatory and Government Affairs, Seven West Media).

Thank you to our hosts Allens, our IIC President Chris Chapman for the introductory remarks and to Panel Moderator, Debra Richards from the IICA Executive Committee.
