Report: The State of Digitization in Latin America facing the Pandemic

This recently-released report from Raul Katz and colleagues at Telecom Advisory Services LLC, commissioned by the Observatory CAF of the Digital Ecosystem, is entitled ‘The State of Digitization in Latin America facing the Pandemic’. Among the study’s principal conclusions, the authors would like to highlight:

(i) based on models developed for the SARS epidemic, countries with an advanced connectivity infrastructure were able to mitigate approximately 75% of economic losses triggered by this event, and
(ii) more than 56% of the labour force in Latin American countries are facing significant disruption, and only 23% are capable of continuing to work from home through tele-commuting.
