The IIC’s well respected annual Asia Telecommunications & Media Forum returned, albeit online, in February 2021 in association with the IIC Singapore chapter. Regulators and policymakers from across the region discussed the initiatives taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and how those will translate into objectives and priorities this year and beyond. Addressing the connectivity and usage gaps laid bare by the pandemic was the starting point for discussions focusing on infrastructure, capacity building to accelerate digital transformation for all, privacy, cybersecurity and trust post COVID-19, online platform responsibilities, content and online video as well as innovation and governance to support the digital and creative economies.
