The year 2022 marks 100 years of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and, with it, public service broadcasting as we know it. BBC director general, Tim Davie, stated recently that “the BBC has been a story of
innovation, creativity and resilience” since its beginnings as “the leading player in a new era of
technology at the dawn of broadcasting”.
