IIC Canadian Chapter Annual Conference rescheduled for early 2020
The Canadian Chapter has recently decided to reschedule its traditional fall annual conference, which had been scheduled for October 1 and 2nd. Recognizing that this date was close to the 50th Anniversary IIC Conference in London, the Canadian chapter decided to reschedule the conference until early in 2020. This decision should increase Canadian participation in the London anniversary conference, which is usually well-attended by Canadian delegates. The rescheduled date for the Canadian chapter conference will enable it to focus on the report of the Expert Panel on the Canadian Broadcasting and Telecommunications Legislative Review. This Panel has been mandated to review the basic legislative framework for Canadian communications sector, including the Broadcasting Act, the Telecommunications Act and the Radiocommunication Act. IIC Board member, Hank Intven is a member of the Panel, which is scheduled to report in January, 2020. More details will follow.
