Technology firms including Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Twitter and Snap have signed up to the “Voluntary Principles to Counter Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse” framework, reports the website zd.net. The joint set of rules were agreed following an initial discussion last year between technology companies and the ‘5 Eyes’ intelligence group of countries comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the US. The framework consists of 11 principles, including preventing child sexual abuse material from appearing and targeting online grooming, all of which the companies have agreed to implement.
