The Utility Regulation and Competition Office (OfReg) of the Cayman Islands is a multi-sector regulatory authority whose remit includes telecommunications and ICT. During the COVID-19 pandemic OfReg has:

  • Engaged with utility providers across all the sectors it regulates, to ensure that services continue uninterrupted. In terms of the ICT sector specifically, OfReg is working with the sector to explore the options for online learning and remote working.
  • Worked with mobile operators to ensure that the public can access official information from the gov.ky website without incurring mobile data charges.

More information on what OfReg is doing to help will be coming soon.
