S K Gupta

Mr S K Gupta is an Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) Officer.  He is working as Secretary, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Mr Gupta joined the Indian Telecom Services (ITS) in 1983 and worked in Department of Telecommunication in various capacities. For last ten years he has been involved in Telecom licensing, regulations and its implementation. He has dealt with issues relating to Broadband, Infrastructure sharing, IP Network design and installation, Licensing, mobile number portability, FM Radio, new regulatory framework for Broadcasting and Cable services.

Mr Gupta has been a Member of various high profile committees such as “Internet Governance Working Group” constituted by Department of Information Technology, Convener of NGN Expert Committee constituted under agis of TRAI, Member of South Asian Telecom Regulatory Council (SATRC) and member of IPv6 focus Group constituted by DOT etc.

Mr Gupta is a gold medalist of Allahabad University and graduated with “Electronics and Telecommunication” and an MBA in Delhi.
