French mobile operators in rapid 5G rollout (22,857 sites authorised up to 1st April)
Data released by French regulator ANFR shows a major leap in 5G rollout sites, reports rcwireless.com. Of 22,857 sites authorised since the spectrum auction in September 2020, 12,213 are operational, some shared by mobile operators.
All of the sites approved so far are at locations already used by 2G, 3G or 4G technologies. The figure compares with 48,466 4G sites currently operating in the country.
