Esmond Chiu is the Assistant Director (Market and Competition) of the Office of the Communications Authority, the executive arm of the Communications Authority established in April 2012 as the unified regulator for the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors in Hong Kong.
Mr Chiu oversees competition matters and fair trading practices for the broadcasting and telecommunications sectors, manages regulatory measures for protecting consumer interests, and promotes industry development through schemes facilitating 5G adoption and infrastructure rollout.
