Program Director, Asian Network for Public Opinion Research (ANPOR)

Dhanaraj Kheokao is an active scholar in public opinion research and media law, serving as the Program Director of the Asian Network for Public Opinion Research (ANPOR). Under his leadership, ANPOR has become a prominent platform that bridges academia and policy, fostering collaborative research across Asia. Mr. Kheokao has been instrumental in organising and directing ANPOR’s high-profile annual conferences in cities across Asia over the past decades. His efforts have helped ANPOR secure international partnerships and recognition, solidifying its status as a critical driver of public opinion research in the region.

Mr Kheokao’s academic career is equally distinguished. He has been affiliated with the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford, where he contributed to the renowned Digital News Report by authoring the Thailand section in recent years. His expertise spans media law, marketing communication, and geopolitics, making him a sought-after speaker at international conferences, government committees, and non-governmental organisations. He was invited as keynote speaker on “How TikTok is shaping the future of journalism in Thailand, Asia and beyond – Ce que TikTok change pour le futur du journalisme en Asie” at the Science Po in Paris. He previously held an academic position at the University of Mannheim in Germany. He was trained in legal studies at Thammasat University, Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, University of Cambridge, Queen Mary University of London, University of Adelaide, University of Mannheim, Potsdam University, and King’s College London.

In addition to his academic contributions, Mr Kheokao is a legal advisor focused on business law. He has regularly lectured on the legal aspects of media at various institutions and contributed to key government projects, including leading public hearings for constitutional reforms in Thailand. His blend of academic rigour and hands-on legal experience makes him a unique voice in public opinion and media research.
