Jeanette Whyte

Head of Public Policy and External Affairs, APAC, GSMA

Jeanette Whyte is Head of Public Policy at the GSMA. She brings 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. In her current role she provides advice and thought leadership in digital policy to mobile network players, policy makers and regulators. She has contributed to several reports and published articles on 5G, competition policy, data privacy, digital inclusion, mobile economy, metaverse and spectrum policy.

Before joining the GSMA Ms Whyte was the Managing Director of a Telecoms Media and Technology consultancy firm where she led a wide range of projects including development of fixed broadband strategies and business plans for mobile operators across Asia: China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Macau, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Thailand.  Ms Whyte is a former Director at British Telecom where she held senior roles in the areas of strategy, portfolio management, product development, Merger& Acquisition and IT.

Ms Whyte graduated from Loughborough University in the UK with a BSc (Hons) in Management Sciences. She is a Sloan Fellow with an MSc from London Business School.
