Trudy Bell, popularly known as Sister Passion, Dashouta Rhode, Penelope, or formerly Melcita from the TV series “Joint Tenants,” is a versatile creative talent and seasoned professional.

A Wolmer’s Girls’ High alumna and University of the West Indies graduate with a degree in Management Studies, Trudy is currently pursuing a Master’s in Marketing and Data Analytics. Her extensive experience in theatre includes working with Stages Production on hit plays like “The Plumber,” “Ova Mi Dead Body,” and “The Student.” She later founded Ignite-A-Bell Production, where she wrote “The MsTrudyB Show” and the screenplay for the movie “Out of Many.” Trudy’s comedic skits have also garnered a substantial following on social media, with over 220,000 followers on Meta and TikTok collectively.

Additionally, she wrote the third season of the JPS Power Smart Energy Challenge TV series.

Her commitment to social impact is evident in her work as the writer and producer of “Living Dangerously,” a comedic yet thought-provoking play addressing human trafficking and domestic abuse. The play toured Jamaica with support from Fi Wi Jamaica and funding from USAID, serving as an effective communication tool. Trudy’s work on this play led to her nomination by the US Embassy in Jamaica to participate in the US Department of State’s International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) under the theme “Promoting Social Change through the Arts.”

Trudy’s other notable works include the stage play “SChAMPAGNE Popping,” and the virtual plays “Son of a Witch” and “Deadman Tales,” all of which she wrote, acted in, and produced.
