Amma Asante, born in Ghana and raised in the Netherlands, holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and has built a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in public service. She has held a range of influential positions, including Chair of the National Client Council for Social Security, Senior Researcher at Movisie, Member of the Amsterdam Municipal Council, Member of the National Board of the Dutch Social Democratic Party (PvdA), and Member of the Dutch Parliament. She currently serves as Chair of the Dutch Regulatory Body for Audiovisual Media through a ministerial appointment and as Vice Chair of the European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services.
