Ciprian Rus is a Senator in the Romanian Parliament and President of the Senate Committee on Communications, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

With over 20 years of professional experience in the IT sector and an academic background in computer science from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, he focuses his parliamentary work on digital transformation, public digital infrastructure, interoperability, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence governance and the modernization of public services.

As chair of the Senate’s IT and AI Committee, Ciprian Rus promotes a citizen-centred vision of digital government, based on trusted digital identity, secure electronic communication, data interoperability, cloud infrastructure, and the principle that citizens should not be required to provide the state with information the state already has.

His legislative priorities include building a coherent digital architecture for Romania’s public administration, strengthening trust in electronic communications, supporting responsible AI regulation and ensuring that digital public services are simple, secure and accessible to all citizens.
