Mrs Iuliana Chilea has been the Director General of ASRO, the Romanian Standards Association, since July 2017. Before that, she was the Director of the Standardization Division from 2010 to 2017, representing ASRO in the CEN and CENELEC Technical Boards and contributing as a convenor of several working groups. Mrs Chilea has served as a member of the MRMC since 2018 and was elected as a member of the CENELEC Administrative Board in 2019, starting in her role in January 2020. At the European level, she has been appointed as a member in the European Commission’s Committee on Standards. With a master’s degree in Law, Mrs Chilea started her career in standardization in 2003 as Copyright Administrator and Legal Adviser at ASRO. She further developed her expertise on copyright and intellectual property by working as an IPR attorney in a private law firm from 2006 to 2010. She also pursued post-graduate studies on EU Law, executive trainings provided by ISO, OECD and WTO. Currently, she is continuing her academic education in Business Administration at Bucharest University of Economic Studies. She was CEN Board Member from 2024 to 2025. She was elected as CEN Vice-President Technical for a two-year mandate, starting in January 2026.
