Commissioner, Korea Communications Commission (KCC)

Commissioner Ki-Joo Lee has been a Standing Commissioner at the Korea Communications Commission since April 2014. He began his career in public service in 1982 with the Ministry of Communications, a precedent entity to the KCC. From December 2002 to January 2005, Commissioner Lee worked for the World Bank as a Senior Information Officer and later he carried out ICT-related duties in various positions including as Head of the KCC Planning and Coordination Office in 2009. In 2012, he was appointed President of the Korea Internet & Security Agency and served the organisation until returning to government service at the KCC in 2014.

Commissioner Lee obtained his PhD in telecommunications policy from George Washington University in 2012. Additionally, he was awarded the Order of Service Merit (Red Stripe) in 2006 and the Service Merit Medal in 1992.
