Executive Director, the Ad Standards Council (ASC), Philippines

Digna Dator Santos is the Executive Director of the Ad Standards Council (ASC), the self-regulatory body of the Philippines’ advertising industry, responsible for the screening of ad materials and hearing of cases. She joined ASC in January 2016, having been in that position as an interim Director during the last trimester of 2015.

Prior to joining the ASC, Ms Santos was the Executive Director of the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA), a position she held for 11 years. PANA is a 300+ strong organization composed of top advertisers whose total spending accounts for approximately 85% of total advertising expenditure in the Philippines. Concurrently, she remains a consultant to PANA until a replacement ED is on board.

Prior to PANA, Ms Santos worked with Kimberly-Clark Philippines, Inc. for over 17 years, latterly as senior business unit director for Infant and Child Care. While in K-CPI, she introduced KIMBIES® Belt-Style diapers and HUGGIES® disposable diapers, which triggered the significant growth of the Philippine disposable diaper category.

Ms Santos has worked in major local and multinational companies including the Magnolia Division of San Miguel Corporation, Procter & Gamble Philippines, and General Foods Philippines.

Ms Santos graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines’ School of Economics in 1980 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Economics.
