Manager, Spectrum Management, Asia Satellite Telecommunications (AsiaSat)

Yat Hung Chan is currently the Manager of Spectrum Management with Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat) of Hong Kong.

Mr Chan has worked in the field of spectrum management for satellite communications for over 25 years. During these years, Mr Chan has been responsible for the frequency coordination activities of the company, preparatory work within ITU and APT for World Radio Conferences (WRC) as well as national frequency allocations within the Asia-Pacific region. For this purpose, he is leading a team of engineers and has successfully conducted frequency coordination of AsiaSat’s fleet with adjacent satellite networks in planned and non-planned bands. Mr. Chan has actively followed the Mobile and BWA allocation discussions, analysis and testing on the compatibility with FSS and has participated in several field trials in Hong Kong and Beijing.

Mr Chan holds an MPhil degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a BSc (Hons) degree from the City University of Hong Kong, both degrees are in Electronic Engineering.
