Digicel Group and its individual operating companies have taken various steps to help during the COVID-19 pandemic. These include:

  • Promoting online services such as bill payment and top ups.
  • Posting videos for consumers showing them how to safely clean mobile devices and how to top up credit for themselves or others.

Digicel Bermuda has suspended disconnections and late fees for consumers and small businesses who can show they have experienced financial difficulties because of the pandemic.

Digicel Cayman has encouraged customers to download free apps so that they can stay up to date with news and health information, and directs those experiencing mental health issues to the Government’s help line.

Digicel Tonga has taken a number of measures to help, including:

  • Assisting the Ministry of Health and the MEIDECC (Ministry of Meteorology, Energy, Information, Disaster Management, Environment, Climate Change and Communications) with the dissemination of information to the public via its free-to-air TV channel and communications network, advocating that ‘Prevention Starts With You’.
  • Changing the name of its data network to ‘Digicel –  Stay Safe’, to reinforce the Government’s messaging on COVID-19.
