The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority (GRA) is responsible for regulating the electronic communications and telecommunications sectors in the country. It is also the body responsible for enforcing Data Protection legislation in Gibraltar. In addition, the GPA regulates radio and television broadcasters; the postal service; radiocommunications and satellite comunications; higher education provided by the University of Gibraltar, and cyber security compliance.

During the pandemic’s progression, the GRA has:

  • Provided guidance on how data protection rules should be applied even when businesses are trying to move quickly to mitigate the effects of the virus on their organisations.
  • Provided information on how operators can apply for or renew licenses and other services online.
