The IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) is Singapore’s regulator for the converged infocomm media sector, as well as the data protection regulator. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic it has taken actions including:

  • Promoting the message to ‘Stay In, Stay Open, Go Digital’ to businesses, encouraging them to use digital solutions and resources to continue their operations during the pandemic.
  • Supporting media companies through actions such as the waiving of licence fees, and establishing a fund to promote the production of new content during the pandemic.

More information on the IMDA’s efforts will be coming soon.
