Home » COVID-19: What the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is doing to help
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) regulates the telecommunications sector in the country. It has taken a number of actions during the COVID-19 pandemic including:
Working with the Emergency Communications Centres which handle calls made to the country’s toll-free National Emergency Number, 112. The NCC’s Executive Vice Chairman, Professor Umar Danbatta, visited two such centres to hear whether they were encountering any issues, and to encourage staff to ensure they handled calls effectively.
Stating unequivocally that there is no link between 5G technology and the coronavirus, to counteract disinformation which has been spread.
More details on the NCC’s efforts will be coming soon.
