Spain will set a new deadline following coronavirus outbreak

Reuters says that Madrid has informed the EU of its plans to delay the auction of its 700Mhz band. Spain was due to free up space by moving from analogue to digital television by June 30th, but the government has described the coronavirus pandemic as ‘force majeure’, making it impossible to abide by the deadline. The website notes that Austria postponed a 5G auction last week, with France expected to follow suit.
