Three Indonesian Fintech firms are applying to launch the mobile payments service

One of the first launches of Facebook’s new unified payments service, Facebook Pay, could take place in Indonesia, reports the Economic Times. The service, announced last November, enables payments across all of Facebook’s platforms, including WhatsApp and Instagram, without users having to leave the app. Three Indonesian Fintech firms are believed to have asked for regulatory consultation on a partnership with Facebook. The website reports that Indonesia, home to 260 million people, is one of the largest markets for Facebook, with over 100 million users. Read more.
