Google has announced a five-year investment in the European Media and Information fund, says telecompaper. The company states that the intention is to help strengthen media literacy skills, and support the work of fact-checkers. The fund will shortly be open for proposals from academics, non-profit organisations and publishers based in Europe. An independent committee of experts will select the winning submissions.
