Pandemic-driven shift likely to be reversed

Most network service providers expect to return to in-person visits for testing and maintenance once the Covid-19 pandemic is over, reports RCWireless. The spread of the virus resulted in many operators using technology to manage networks almost entirely remotely. It was thought that that this would result in a permanent change but, in a survey of 55 industry executives, 80 per cent agreed that in-person technology visits were ‘an essential part of activating, maintaining and troubleshooting network service’. Only 7 per cent thought that the shift would be permanent.
