Peru in ‘largest spectrum auction in country’s history’

Proposals designed to encourage ‘new technologies and private investment’

Peru has published proposals for awarding 5G and Wi-Fi 6 spectrum as part of a single tender, reports bnamericas.com. The auction will include 600 MHz in the 26 GHz band and 300 MHz in the 3.5 MHz band. In the 6 GHz band, used for Wi-Fi 6, 500 MHz of spectrum has been identified. The transport and communications ministry (MTC) is inviting contributions to the proposal over the next 30 working days, with the auction expected to take place in early 2021, says the news site.
