Alessandro Molon, a Ph.D. in Law and professor, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), a bachelor’s degree in law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), and a Ph.D. from Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). During his tenure as a Federal Deputy, he played a pivotal role as the rapporteur for Brazil’s Bill of Rights for the Internet (Marco Civil da Internet), the country’s first-ever law aimed at safeguarding internet privacy, free expression, and net neutrality. Currently, Molon serves as a professor at PUC-Rio and acts as the Executive Director of the Alliance for the Open Internet (Aliança pela Internet Aberta).
