Formerly a computer designer, Ashley has been a Data, AI and FinTech partner for over 25 years and has led teams at White & Case, Paul Hastings, Pillsbury Winthrop, McDermott Will & Emery and others. His clients have included global social media and technology platforms, telecommunications companies, professional services companies, card and payment networks as well as innovative startups often employing AI and machine learning.  Ashley is a Ponemon Institute Fellow and the Chairman of the Data Protection Forum, the oldest data protection association in the UK. Having spent a lifetime in applying existing law to new technologies, Ashley is particularly worried that existing regulation will selectively stifle AI innovation in an unintended manner.
