Ben Lyons is Head of Online Targeting at the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation (CDEI), the UK Government’s advisory body for AI and data-driven technologies. The CDEI’s review of online targeting was published in February 2020 and made recommendations about how the UK could improve the accountability, transparency and user empowerment of online targeting systems.
Before joining the CDEI, Mr Lyons worked in public policy roles in the private and not-for-profit sectors. He has degrees from Oxford and Tsinghua universities.
