Chek-Tchung Foo has been a strong advocate for the adoption of new technologies, including blockchain, in financial services and payments throughout his years of experience in central banking, financial services, technology and consulting. He is currently the APAC public policy director for Meta Financial Technologies. As a strategic leader, he oversees external engagement regarding financial services policy and regulatory issues across Meta’s products and services.

Prior to joining Meta, Mr Foo was the director and head of the Payments Supervision Division at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he was responsible for the full range of legislative, licensing, supervisory work relating to entities and activities (including digital tokens) regulated under the Payment Services Act. He also previously headed the Payments FinTech Office in MAS where he led Singapore’s strategic efforts towards developing an e-payment society, including the implementation of various critical retail payment infrastructure in Singapore.
