Dr. Deepali Sharma serves as Advisor (Broadcasting and Cable Services) at the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), bringing nearly 28 years of cross-functional experience across the broadcasting and telecommunications sectors. Her expertise spans policy formulation, licensing, regulatory frameworks, and project and contract management.
She began her career with the public broadcaster of India, where she gained hands-on experience in the installation, operations, and maintenance of broadcasting networks. She later contributed to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), playing a strategic role in integrating Aadhaar, India’s digital identity platform, with key fintech and public service delivery systems. Her tenure at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting further deepened her engagement with broadcasting policy and legislative development.
An Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer, Dr. Sharma holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and Management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, where she is also a Fellow.
