Diego Bassante leads IBM’s Government and Regulatory Affairs team for Latin America, focusing on AI governance, data privacy, and regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies.
Previously, Diego held senior public policy roles at Meta and served as an Ecuadorian diplomat, with assignments at the Embassy of Ecuador in Washington, DC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Quito.
He holds a Master’s degree in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Universidad San Francisco de Quito.
