Chairperson Diorella Maria “Lala” Sotto-Antonio is the daughter of former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, she swore into office last 07 July 2022 as a Presidential appointee under the Marcos administration.
A Public Servant with over eighteen (18) years of experience in the Local Government Unit of Quezon City (QC LGU), she was a three-term councilor of QC’s Sixth (6TH) district and previously a three-term councilor of the Third (3rd) district of QC, aside from her time in the LGU she served as the Chief of Staff under the Commission on Appointments – Office of Senator Vicente Sotto from 2010 to 2012. As an active member of society, she is currently the President of Samahang Kasama ng Kabataan (KASAMA) Foundation.
Chairperson Lala leads the MTRCB Board through the principle of Consultative leadership and Spiritual Conviction; Treating the Filipino parents, and the Film and TV industry as valued partners of the Board in shaping the minds of the youth through Responsableng Panonood (Responsible Viewership) and Media literacy.
With the leadership of Chairperson Sotto-Antonio, the Board strives to protect to empower viewers to make informed choices through the provision of MTRCB ratings and classification.
Chairperson Sotto-Antonio earned her Bachelor of Arts degree major in Consular Diplomatic Affairs at the De La Salle – College of St. Benilde. She attended the Quezon City Executives and Legislators Planning Course at the University of the Philippines, and finished a program at the Harvard Kennedy School for Applying Behavioral Insights to the Design of Public Policy.
