Giuseppe Loprete (Italy) is the Director of the Panama Administrative Center and Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Panama, based in Panama City since 1 October 2022.
He joined IOM in 2007 as Donor Relations Officer in Geneva Headquarters.
Mr Loprete has served as Chief of Mission in Haiti (2018-2022), Chief of Mission in Niger (2014-2018), Chief of Mission in Central African Republic (2014), Deputy Chief of Mission and Chief of Mission ad interim in Sri Lanka (2009 – 2013).
Before joining IOM, Mr Loprete worked as consultant for the Italian Ministry of Labour and the Italian National Statistical Institute (ISTAT) while working as Tender Officer for a non-profit organization in the field of International Statistical Cooperation (ICstat) in Rome/Italy.
He holds a degree in Sociology at the Bicocca University in Milan (Sociology of Work, 2002) and a Master in European Studies & International Relations at the University of La Sapienza in Rome (2003).
