Kim Grinfeder is a multidisciplinary media maker and designer who uses immersive technologies to communicate timely social and environmental issues. He’s an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Department of Interactive Media at the University of Miami. He directs the XR Initiative, an initiative that aims to position the University as a leader in research and applications of immersive technologies. He is also the Co-Director of Creative Computing and Information Design at the Institute for Data Science and Computing which aims to support teams of faculty and students from across academic disciplines to address grand challenges and creative opportunities in computing, ranging from large societal problems to industry-specific issues.
