Leo Preville

Director, CARICOM Single Market

Mr. Preville is the Director, CARICOM Single Market, at the CARICOM Single Market and Economy Unit based in Barbados. He joined the Secretariat in September 2020.

Prior to this he worked with the Government of Saint Lucia in the capacity of Permanent Secretary for over twelve years, most of which he served as Permanent Secretary the Ministry responsible for Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs. He also served as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation as well as the Department of Labour.

Mr. Preville also spent five years as Director of Economics and Research at the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority and was Chief Information Officer in the Government Information Service of Saint Lucia between 1990 and 1995. He was a tutor with the University of the West Indies for courses in Micro and Macro Economics, Quantitative Methods, Managerial Economics and Financial Management in the degree programmes in Management and Economics offered by the UWI, through the Open Campus.

Mr. Preville holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of the West Indies; a degree in economics and management as well as a master’s degree in economics from the UWI.
